About this group
Wicklow SPCA is a not for profit animal shelter that since its foundation over 100 years ago has become an intrinsic part of the Wicklow community and a focal point for social good, through volunteering, education, employment, fundraising and promotion of rural sustainability.
In 2016 we opened for public use the first dog park in Co. Wicklow. This facility is not only used by visiting members of the public and their dogs but also by special groups including clients from Autism Initiatives Wicklow, Sunbeam House Services, Employability Ireland, National Learning Network, Tiglin Life Beyond Addiction Services, the Probation Service and others where they can come and take a rescue dog out to the park and spend key time relaxing, socializing and meeting other pet owners.
Reasons to support this group
Working with animals can be therapeutic as they are non judgmental, help to relieve tension and reduce stress. Wicklow SPCA is situated in the countryside in beautiful surrounding and we care for unwanted and mistreated animals. Walking a rescue dog brings a sense of fulfillment as you are doing a good deed for a once neglected animal.
Helping a defenseless animal is a thoughtful and kind act.
We endeavour to make your visit to Wicklow SPCA as enjoyable as possible. You can just sit in the park with your dog and your thoughts or become a regular part time volunteer , the choice is yours and we are there to assist in whatever choice you make.
