About this group
Wanderers GAA club is a rural GAA club based in the Dublin Mountains. The club has been successful in providing a sporting outlet for children from the local area.
The Club provides a vital service in the Community at grassroots by empowering young girls and boys to play sport in a fun and safe environment and acknowledge the growth in the numbers of girls playing for the club.
Reasons to support this group
One of the key aims in the strategic plan of the club is to develop the health and wellbeing of local children attending the club. In 2018 the club has become one of the GAA healthy clubs where we take a 'whole club' approach to wellbeing by going beyond the competitive sport element and working on holistic health within the club.
Many of the children that are members of Wanderers GAA attend the three local schools in Whitechurch and Edmondstown. Our project aims to channel positive mental, physical and emotional health through sporting projects and given that we are small club the grant would provide vital equipment and resources to our club and would make a significant impact on the children who we work with.
Wanderers is a small rural club in Dublin which is competing with much larger clubs for players, funding and resources. These funds would make a huge difference to the club and to the juvenile section in particular
